What to Expect from a Training Program

Because The Riding Academy offers varied levels of horses to meet your riding ability, horse ownership is not required. The lesson programs meet riders at their experience level. A beginning lesson package, for example, might include the following:

-The basics of horse handling (grooming, health care, tack)
-Equine Safety
-Varied Riding Styles including; English, Western, and balance building bare-back skills
-Gradual building of skills necessary for competing in a first horse show


The Riding Academy is also set-up to meet the expanded training needs of horse owners. An expanded training package would include the following:

-2 lessons per week for youth non-pro horses*
-Turnout
-Feeding of supplements
-Blanketing
-Farrier and Vet appointments
-Leg therapies such as Game Ready are done as needed and are billed additionally


*Futurity/Derby horses are ridden 5-6 times per week
